HeliScope PNG is a BARS-Accredited Company. The BAR Standard was developed to meet an identified need to establish a common global aviation safety assessment and audit protocol which we are very proud to uphold. Giles Rooney - CEO
Australia

Giles' aviation career started in Papua New Guinea at an early age flying fixed wing for various operators in remote areas throughout PNG. For the past 19 years he has been at Cathay Pacific Airways operating aircraft such as the B747-400 passenger and freighter version as well as the AIRBUS variants A340-300/ 600 and A330-300 on which he has been a Senior Captain for more than 10 years. He launched HeliLease Aust Pty Ltd  2002 and HeliScope PNG in 2013. With 23 years of international experience from the ground up and just under 17,000 hours of incident/accident free flying in both rotary and fixed wing fields, he has the background necessary to run HeliScope(PNG) - combining airline safety practice with hands-on experience.

Geoff has extensive experience in upper management positions in Papua New Guinea including six years as CEO with Central Aviation and four years with Mission Aviation Fellowship. Geoff has a wealth of knowledge of PNG as both a manager and a pilot. Having dealt in various industries including mining, construction as well as tourism and marine transport, Geoff is able to offer HeliScope PNG’s clients relevant tailor-made solutions for their individual projects.
Steve Tollenaar - Flight Operations Manager (Chief Pilot)
New Zealand

With 10,400 hours, Steve has more than 34 years of combined Military and Civil aviation experience. Steve has spent nine years in PNG and has thousands of hours in high-altitude, mountainous terrain. Steve's approach to training and safety is an asset to the HeliScope PNG brand. He has 16 years flight instructor experience with training approvals for NZ, Australian & PNG based companies operating to ATO requirements.

Andy Page - Line Pilot (Training & Standards)
Australia

With 16,700 hrs, Andrew has worked throughout PNG, Australia, Canada and the Antarctic, performing all aspects of helicopter flying. The majority of his work has been involved in mining exploration, geological drilling support, forestry and fire fighting, precision long lining, seismic, power line construction and bush flying operations. Most of his experience has been in remote areas, often under hash and difficult conditions. His record and reputation is testament to his approach to safety.

Geoff Keighley - Line Pilot
New Zealand

With 7,200 hrs of Helicopter flying, Geoff Keighley has extensive experience in PNG, Australia, NZ and the mountainous regions of Indonesia. He specialises in heliportable precision drilling operations at altitudes as high as 16,000 ft.

Michelle Namuri - Planning and Administration
Papua New Guinea

Michelle has worked in the Aviation Industry for 16 years, the majority of which has been with Air Niugini in Production Planning. HeliScope is very fortunate to have Michelle’s expertise on the ground, having completed several high-regarded maintenance, safety and monitoring courses during her career.
Lilly Awok-Han - Quality and Safety Manager
Papua New Guinea

Lilly has some 21 years in PNG’s Aviation Industry, having worked for Airlink Ltd, Airlines PNG, Travel Air Ltd, Ocean Air Ltd, Zircon Air Ltd, Air Sanga, Outback Aviation and five years with PNG Civil Aviation Authority. Lilly has extensive experience in Quality and Safety Management Systems having been a Q&A Safety Manager, Q&A safety Co-ordinator and CAA Licensing Officer. As HeliScope PNG’s  Q&A Safety Manager, Lilly is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the organisation’s Safety Management System and quality management system outlined in PNG CAR Part 100.
